About the

Competition

In 2023 some members of our fantastic Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) group decided to do some fundraising to support a FutureNeuro initiative for children, young people and their families who have been impacted by a diagnosis of epilepsy or other neurological conditions.

We had a first-time marathon runner and a wonderful evening of music and now we have an art competition! We want you to get involved and challenge you to send us your interpretation of the theme:

My Unique Brain

What does your brain mean to you? Do you know how it works? Maybe you have never thought about it? Or maybe your brain works a bit differently to others? Either way your brain is unique! And we would love to know what your unique brain means to you!

us

At FutureNeuro, our mission is to transform the patient journey through research that prioritises the needs of both patients and the healthcare professionals dedicated to their care. We develop diagnostic tools, therapies to correct damaged brain networks, and technologies empowering patients to monitor their own health and well-being which are linked to Ireland’s national imaging, diagnostics, and eHealth infrastructure.

We believe in the power of public engagement as a catalyst for positive change. Our Education and Public Engagement (EPE) vision, co-created with our Public Patient Involvement (PPI) Panel, highlights our commitment to building stronger connections between our research and the public.

Supporting the Next Generation of Researchers

We aim to encourage young people at all stages to be curious about the brain, about science and a career in STEM. Have a look at some of our programmes.

Empowering communities impacted by our research

We collaborate with national advocacy groups to build our understanding of public and patient priorities. Take a look at some of our activities. If you would like more information or to register your interest in engaging with us simply fill in the register now form.
